Every-time when you install a new server operating system, not all of it's features are ready to be used. "Group policy management" is one of the extra feature that can be installed. Installing "Group policy management" allows us to do things in a centralize manner. In order to use "Group policy management", it also need the "Active Directory" to run it.

Group policy settings are contain inside the "Group Policy Objects". These objects are then linked to the following "Active Directory" containers: sites, domain, or Organizational Units. Organizational Units(OUs) specify organizational group attributes and implementing polices inside of an organization

Group Policy Management Editor is used to specify different policies and preferences for those computer connected to the server. The administrator can put settings like "Configure Automatic Updates", this is used to schedule auto-download and installition of new updates for local computer which are connected to the server. Group Policy Management is also the place where administrator can set policies and will be apply to everyone within the organization.
